The SSCOR VX-2 is a lightweight, portable, powerful and "Firefighter" tough, battery powered suction unit. The VX-2 is powerful enough to meet state, national and international standards for portable suction equipment (>30 lpm clinical airflow and >525mmHg negative pressure), and versatile enough to provide essential medical suction inside and outside the vehicle.
The SSCOR VX-2 features an advanced battery maintenance system. The 3 LED, 5 position battery indicator alerts the user when the device is being charged as well as the condition of the internal sealed lead acid battery. Additional LED’s indicate when the VX-2 is plugged in to a power source and when the pump is running. The battery maintenance system allows the device to be plugged in at all times without over charging the device. Additionally, the battery maintenance system monitors the battery voltage as the device is running and alerts the user when the voltage is getting low. When the battery voltage is depleted and the suction unit is no longer able to operate to specifications, the battery maintenance system disconnects the battery from the vacuum pump protecting the battery from a deep discharge condition which can lengthen the life of the battery. The battery maintenance system also features a low battery capacity alert system that lets you know when it is time to change your battery. The LEDs on the front panel will begin to blink when the device is operated with a low capacity battery.
The device also features outward facing controls that are easily accessible during operation and a variable regulator and gauge. The variable regulator allows the negative pressure to be adjusted quickly between <50 to >525mmHg with a quarter turn of the knob to provide reduced vacuum for tracheal and pediatric procedures as well as vacuum less than 50mmHg for neonates.
The SSCOR VX-2 with Charging/Retention Bracket is both an onboard AND a portable suction unit. It mounts in the action area of a vehicle and has every feature necessary for effective onboard suction. The charging/retention bracket holds the unit securely in place and provides vehicle power to run the VX-2 as an onboard suction device, while charging the internal battery. The device can be removed from the charging /retention bracket with one hand to become a powerful and effective portable suction unit, easily transported to the patient’s side.
Think of it as onboard suction that is not chained to the vehicle.
NOTE: The VX-2 is designed for battery operation or operation from vehicle power. The AC charger provided with the VX-2 is for charging purposes only and it will not power the VX-2.
